I really like this entire series of portraits, all your subjects have such a strong personality...this has to be my favorite though. The expression coupled with the strong white on the left against the pitch black on the right - its like the photo is describing the man's moral state or a sense of being caught between two extremes.
Yes. Adriano Celentano once said to Compay Segundo who was the guest star of Celentano's tv show: you have the face of life. This is a brilliant definition. The Mayor has the face of life, too. "The Faces of Life" would be a good name for a gallery. Life has many faces, and Compay Segundo's face and Celentano's face and the Mayor's face are the faces of life.
M - That's interesting. I've always liked Celetano as a singer, but I had forgotten that he was a talk show host, as well! I can imagine him saying that to Segundo. That's an apt description of Segundo's face, as is yours of The Mayor (his first name is Clarence). Thank you for your kind comments!
I love his expression. He seems to be so far away. Maybe he is in memories, or maybe He just looks away the window. But I prefere to tell myself he remembers his past, the best of his past.. Great Job Richard.
You're welcome Richard, but what else could I say? You're an extraordinary photographer and I'm so jealous at the way, you're able to have so many different feelings in one picture(: Keep up the lovely work!
